The Greatest Lie in Politics
The Democrats Shut Down Their Own Budget!
Behind the facade of noble words lies a cynical game. The unions have seen it — and now, the people see it too.

For weeks, the media tried to control the narrative. They pointed fingers at the Republicans, stirred up drama, and buried the facts. But as the revelations piled up — from The Washington Post to the unions themselves — pretending is no longer an option. The mask is off, and reality speaks for itself.
What’s Actually Happening
What’s going on in the U.S. right now is being portrayed by many outlets as chaos caused by Republicans. As if they’re the ones paralyzing the country, while Democrats nobly try to “save the people.” But the truth is much simpler — and far uglier. This isn’t about ideology. It’s about money, and a dirty power game by the elite.
Every time Washington hits a budget crisis, we see the same playbook: headlines, photos of empty offices, federal workers without pay, and politicians pointing fingers. But what makes this round different is that more people are waking up to what’s really behind it. Republicans have been clear: let’s extend the current budget so the government keeps running while negotiations continue. That’s all they’re asking for — stability, not drama.
The Democrats, on the other hand, refuse. They’re using the shutdown as leverage to push through new funding. Behind all the lofty talk about “health and food for the people” hides another motive: covering up the economic collapse of their own states. California, New York, and Illinois are on the brink after years of overspending, mismanagement, and massive costs tied to illegal immigration. Now they’re trying to make the rest of the country foot the bill.
This isn’t about blame — it’s about responsibility. And for the first time in a long time, the public seems to see who’s actually failing to take it.
What the Shutdown Is Really About
When Americans hear “shutdown,” many imagine all-out political war. But this time, it’s simpler than that. Republicans haven’t made demands, proposed no new laws, no cuts — they’ve asked for one thing: continue the current budget. The very same budget the Democrats themselves created and passed under Biden.
It’s arguably the most moderate option possible. Government stays open, salaries are paid, programs continue, and there’s room to negotiate — without everything grinding to a halt. But the Democrats refuse. They won’t extend their own budget because it doesn’t include the new funding they desperately need to keep their states afloat.
That’s why Republicans essentially have nothing to negotiate over. They’re asking for status quo. The Democrats are using the shutdown as a weapon — a tool to force through more money, wrapped in sugar-coated phrases like “health and social security.”
But the reality has nothing to do with welfare. It’s about bailout cash for states like California, New York, and Illinois — states that have spent more than they had for years and are now drowning in red ink. Their refusal to continue the current budget is simple: without federal money, their own economies can’t stay afloat.
Where the Money’s Really Going
When Democrats talk about securing “health, food, and decent living conditions,” it sounds noble on paper. But the numbers tell a different story. Much of the funding they demand isn’t going to struggling Americans — it’s going to cover massive deficits in blue states.
California, New York, and Illinois have spent billions for years on programs for illegal immigrants — everything from free healthcare and education to housing, legal aid, and even cash benefits. This money doesn’t come from thin air; it’s pulled from taxpayers across the country. So when Democrats demand increased federal funding, it’s not about helping the needy — it’s about plugging the holes left by their own policies.
To make it more palatable, they wrap it all in safe, comforting words like “healthcare” and “welfare.” It works in headlines — but not in real life. The money they want to “save the system” is, in reality, about saving states that have driven their own finances off a cliff.
Even though illegal border crossings have declined recently, the debt from previous years remains. And the irony is that Democrats are still doing everything they can to stop deportations. They refuse to cooperate with ICE, protect so-called “sanctuary” cities, and ensure that people who should’ve been deported stay — all at taxpayers’ expense. You don’t need a degree in rocket science to see what’s really going on: it’s not about humanity, it’s about future voters — people who might one day vote for the party that let them stay.
The result? Costs aren’t going down — they’re exploding. Democrats talk about compassion, but what they’re really doing is using people as political pawns to cling to power.
Pressure on the Democrats Is Mounting
The latest polls show the Democrats are losing ground. According to Quinnipiac University (October 16–20, 2025), only 26% of voters think Democrats in Congress are doing a good job, while a staggering 67% disapprove of their handling of the situation. Even with a slight uptick to 26%, a massive majority still disapproves.
By comparison, Republicans sit slightly higher at 35% approval and 59% disapproval. Neither party is winning popularity contests, but the gap is clear: dissatisfaction with the Democrats (67%) is notably higher than with Republicans (59%).
The poll also shows that 39% of voters blame the Democrats for the shutdown, while 45% point to Republicans and 11% think both are equally guilty. This means responsibility is no longer being pinned exclusively on Republicans — the Democrats are now sharing the blame they thought they could dodge.

Democrats Are Losing Support from Their Own
This week, America’s largest union for federal employees, AFGE, publicly called out the Democrats. They’re demanding the party reopen the country immediately and end the political games.
Union president Everett Kelley called the shutdown “a crisis that could’ve been avoided,” and said it’s time to stop the posturing. He urged the Democrats to agree to what’s called a continuing resolution — a short-term fix that keeps the government running during negotiations.
AFGE represents over 820,000 federal and local employees and has long been a close ally of the Democrats. That’s exactly why this statement hit so hard: it’s a clear break. When your own base starts telling you to drop the pride and get the country moving again, it’s a warning sign that patience is running out.

The Democrats Were Warned — But Walked Straight Into the Trap
Even before the shutdown started, The Washington Post warned the Democrats about what was coming. In an October 1 editorial, the editorial board wrote: “Progressive Democrats are leading the party straight into a shutdown trap.”
The article explained how Chuck Schumer, under pressure from the party’s left flank, dropped a plan that could’ve bought more time for negotiations — effectively “shutting down all exit routes to avoid a shutdown.”
The Post compared this to the GOP Freedom Caucus’ blunders during past budget crises, and warned:
“The Freedom Caucus’s tactics have failed every time. There’s no reason to think this shutdown will end any differently for its left-wing counterpart.”
This was written before the chaos. The Democrats were warned — in black and white — and still chose to drive straight into the trap.

Democrats Accused of Holding the Country Hostage
By the end of October, the message became even clearer — this time from The Washington Post itself. In an editorial dated October 29, the paper stated that the Democrats have been holding the government “hostage” for a month and called on them to end the standoff immediately.
The paper urged the party to pass a clean funding bill and reopen the government:
“The right move is to reopen the government with a clean budget, get people back to work, and debate the Obamacare subsidies later.”
The Post went even further, warning that families could go hungry soon because the food stamp program is running out of funds.
They stated flat-out that using a shutdown as leverage is wrong — comparing the Democrats directly to Ted Cruz’s failed attempt to shut down the government in 2013.
When even The Washington Post — of all outlets — writes that the Democrats must “stop holding the government hostage,” it’s no longer possible to hide who caused this crisis.

Democrats Are Losing — Trump Is Rising
Even after weeks of shutdown, polling shows Trump hasn’t just weathered the storm — he’s gaining strength. According to Newsweek’s review of several national polls, Trump’s approval rating has climbed to its highest point since August, with 45% approving and 51% disapproving.
Normally, a sitting president’s numbers tank during a shutdown. This time, the opposite has happened. Newsweek calls it an “unusual situation where voters don’t blame the president.”
Fewer now blame Trump personally compared to the 2018–19 shutdown, and the gap in blame between Republicans and Democrats has narrowed significantly.
One of Newsweek’s sources summed it up:
“Trump has become the symbol of resistance to Washington’s games. Even a shutdown doesn’t hurt him — it reinforces to many of his voters why he’s there.”
The takeaway is clear: the Democrats are losing ground, while Trump — against all odds — comes out stronger.

When the Facade Cracks
This is getting embarrassing. Norwegian media are now repeating the same lies as the American press, as if nothing has changed. They write that Republicans “shut down the government,” while the truth is Democrats refused to extend their own budget — the very one they crafted and passed under Biden. Not a single word about how Republicans asked to keep things running during negotiations. Not a word about The Washington Post and the unions now turning on the Democrats.
This isn’t journalism anymore — it’s activism. Reporters act like a pack, copy-pasting whatever fits the narrative, echoing each other’s headlines without asking a single damn question. Norwegian outlets print the same talking points as CNN and AP, without mentioning why the Democrats actually need more money: to paper over the disaster in their own states.
No mention of the unions, usually Democratic allies, now demanding the shutdown end. No mention that even The Washington Post says the Democrats must “stop holding the government hostage.” All of it hidden — because the truth doesn’t fit.
But people are seeing it now. They see the disconnect between reality and the headlines. They see who’s solving problems — and who’s creating them. When the dust settles, the Democrats stand exposed as the party that shut down their own budget. And the media — both American and Norwegian — stand exposed alongside them.
The mask is off. And this time, it’s not just Americans who see it. We see it too — because everything that happens in the U.S. affects us more than most care to admit.
